Meet SOUP
Meet SOUP
Named by his foster child! Soup was found in the neighborhood by one of our fosters. With no one to claim him, our foster took him in to provide him a safe place to sleep. Soup is a good, well-mannered, fun-seeking 9 month old lab/husky/shepherd mix (our best guess) with maybe a little hound or beagle sprinkled in. While he does weight 40lbs, he actually has pretty short legs, but a thick and muscular body.
He is a very well mannered puppy, happy, sweet, cuddly. He loves to play with other dogs, but respects his elder dog’s space. He gets along with all with humans of ALL ages and size. He still has some puppy energy around excited kids, but takes to correction very well. He is ready for a big back yard and any and all adventures.

Temperament
Soup is a very happy go lucky puppy. He loves dog toys, other dogs, and all humans alike. He doesn’t seem to have a care in the world. He loves a good cuddle and belly rubs, and would prefer to be his human’s shadow. He is ready to find a family to call his own.
Like all dogs, he will need someone willing to set rules and boundaries, which will ultimately lead to more freedom and way more fun.
Needs
Soup is best suited to an active single, couple or family with or without kids. The family must be willing to give them regular long walks and adventures, and plenty of playtime. He also needs a back yard, because he loves to be outside. Those who work full time should expect to utilize a dog walker or dog day care to help burn some of that puppy energy. We would love to see Soup start balanced training with a partner trainer to learn how to use the walking and off-leash tools! He is eager to please, and picking up new rules and skills very quickly!
Training
All dogs rescued by FAVOR are crate trained, sleeping in the crate from 9pm-6am, and accustomed to some day crate time as well. Dogs are also potty trained with doggie door access. There is ALWAYS a transition period where crate cries and potty accidents WILL HAPPEN in a new home, as the dog transitions to new rules and ways to communicate.
As with ANY and ALL dogs, this dog would benefit GREATLY from professional training to continue to work on good leash manners, place command, and off-leash recall. We always recommend keeping young dogs crated when they are alone to keep them putting themselves in danger (chewing on cords, eating things that can get stuck in their stomachs, etc…)
Vetting
All dogs rescued by FAVOR are spayed/neutered before adoption, as well as vaccinated for rabies, bortedella, DA2PL (distemper, adenovirus, parainfluenza, leptospirosis and parvovirus). Puppies WILL require DA2PL 3rd booster shots when age appropriate (between 14-18 weeks of age). It is also recommended to get the lyme vaccine in New England. All dogs and up to date on heart worm, flea, and tick treatment.
